"It is rather funny though, and others' reactions are entertaining."

I agree.

Some people here look very foolish and it isn't Dobby.

No, you haven't missed anything. We're still waiting to find out if Dobby survived his night out at a club. Hopefully no one looked at him funny causing him to go off on them, and landing him in jail. At least he wouldn't have to worry about paying for meals.

I'm sitting at the airport and this guy next to me is showing off his sandwich. I'm hungry and he's just looking all stuck up while munching on his food. UGH -__-

Look on the bright side, Dobby.

Would you rather have him tear off and give you a piece from the sandwich that he has already been munching on?

Sandwich munchers are so annoying and inconsiderate. Just let it go and keep us posted on your travels. Where are you going next?

I think Dobby is on his way home from his 6 months of international living experience. My how time flies.

So someone had a sandwich and you didn't? What's the big deal? On your way home after this non-travel experience? Or what?

St Cirq,
It’s not that Dobby ain’t got no sandwich.
The issue lies in the aggressive way in which the sandwich is being eaten. And the consumer looking all stuck up / proud / privileged to be eating it, when Dobby’s got no sanger.

I do acknowledge that the situation does not have a lot of clarity – but the 283 posts above do not clarify much.

This thread will become a legend in its own lunch time, along with “tipping the pilot” and “travelling with one’s own 900 count bed linen”.

I was sitting in Manchester airport yesterday and decided to buy a sandwich for my lunch.
Suddenly, an oddly dressed wild eyed youth came and sat very close to me. He eyed my butty wolfishly and followed every mouthful with his eyes. Should I have reported him? Loitering with intent to snatch a sandwich?

Now there's a novel idea. Thank you, Josser and amer_can!

A trip report based entirely on credible, though unconfirmed, Dobby spottings. If you use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!

I may have had a Dobby sighting yesterday afternoon. I was on the subway and this wild-eyed young man sat down next to me, looking suspiciously at everyone around him. He asked me if the subway was always so crowded and made a few nutty comments. He appeard very socially awkward as he eyed everyone as though they were out to get him.

Ok this will be my last post cause I forgot to mention a few things, (I've been quite busy). Anywaayyy, at the club I didn't pay for my drink cause the waitress was catty and kept rolling her eyes. She would tilt her head to the side and had a ''wtf/pissed off'' look on her face. The drink was like 15 quid and I didn't like it very much so yeah. I had a one night stand with a brunette. And half way back home I hitched a ride and this old man with white hair picked me up. He wasn't like old old but maybe late 50s early 60s? Anyway, he kept going on and on about how the roads were dangerous. He even made a comment saying I'm too ''pretty'' being all by myself. WHAT??? I've never been called pretty before When he dropped me off I got a feeling he was looking for sex? He looked a bit PO'ed as I climbed out of the car Or maybe I'm just over thinking? Whatever other than that I had a nice time, the bodyguards were easy going and let me right in.

At the airport the TSA agents take themselves WAAAYYY too seriously. I brought a big thing of salt with me and I didn't want to waste it. One of the male agents poured a little into his hand and asked me to taste it! I didn't want to cause I didn't know where his hands had been. Also another agent asked me for ID and kept looking at my ID and back at me for like 2 minutes! He even held it up next to my face. Seriously?? LOL!

My next trip will be to Sydney. Not any time soon though. Maybe end of next year. Oh and I have to get visa first...which is annoying.

If you're visiting Australia, Dobby, be sure to take enough food for your stay, just some home comforts and gifts for people you might meet. What with Australia being miles from anywhere, there's nothing they enjoy more than exotic foreign meat and fruit, the fresher the better!
