schnauzer, I too have often wondered when I am wondering around if there were fellow fodorites next to me in lines or whatever.
You know different orginizations have a special pin like a pink or yellow ribbon thing. Maybe we could come up with a pin of some sort and we wear it on our lapel or collar or something so when we glance around we see this pin and we instantly know this is a fellow fodorite !!!

I do have a pin, Areala! Fodors responded when many of us suggested that they offer one several years ago. I'm not sure how many were sent out, but they mailed them in ordinary envelopes and lots of them punched through the paper and were lost; there was a great uproar when people received empty envelopes! The pin is metal, about the size of a nickle, and has that flying Fodor's guy (is he still around anywhere?) in front of a stylized globe, with FODORS.COM across the bottom. Maybe they'll consider a second edition. I wore mine on several trips but no one ever noticed. A bit of Fodor's history.

Most of the GTG's post a report with pictures. Here's some pics of one of the NY/NJ ones that I went to, if you want to see Budman in a skirt.

Here's a calmer pic of one of the first IN/KY/OH. The next year wasn't quite so calm but I have somehow misplaced those photos. http://www.geocities.com/rexbickers/GTG.html
There has been a highly sought-after Fodor's pin since they were sent to registrants when that became required to post on 2003.

DD is on MySpace (and she's certainly NOT a bully) and I wanted to read some of her commentaries and had to be registered to do so, so she signed me up and when she asked what picture I wanted, I told her to post a picture of my German shepherd! (Which she did.) Then I told her that I have more fun here, so I don't want to start spending time there. Hell, I'm just learning how to do smily faces...

more than wondering what other fodorites look like, I wonder what people think that I look like. the only person I have even envisioned in my head is ira, and really I only see curly hair and glasses. don't ask me why. . .

Statia, you could have posted a link to your beautiful wedding vow renewal pictures! I would always love to see those again!
The reunion pictures are great!
OK, I had one "thats a good idea" from oobylicious. I am not very good at thinking of all the possibilities so please help me out with suggestions.
When the thread is started I propose that we say:
FODORITES PUT PICTURES WITH FACES
In this thread, if you care to participate, please say AS BRIEFLY AS POSSIBLE:
1. Your Fodor screen name and any other information you wish such as first name, first and last name, or e-mail.
2. Where you live
3. Where you have traveled
4. Link to your picture or pictures
Do not start "conversations" or post comments on this thread because we wish to keep it brief and manageable.
Please do not post links to commercial sites such as apartment rentals because Fodors will cut the thread.
----
What do you think? Suggestions please.

If you follow the links to photos that Fodorites post when they do trip reports there are almost always pix of them in there somewhere.
I always love it when people see my photo and write to me and say "and all these years I thought you were a man!"
Is it something about my writing style? Anyway, check out people's trip reports and photo albums and you'll get to see a lot of Fodorites without having to resport to MySpace, which I think is kind of insidious....

Awww, c'mon don't be shy. Here's mine - http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=wqzuw4. Please note the pastry was used for decorative purposes only (and then promptly consumed).
Buon appetito.

Here's another approach -- if anyone is familiar with Frappr maybe you have an opinion. I've used it with another special interest group, though I didn't set it up myself.

worldinabag,
you look like you're about to assault that poor pastry.
I'm a pole-hugger:

Can't say I could come at a hat with Fordorite across the front considering my hatred of folk who don't take their ... hats off in restaurants and churches. The pin sounded like a better idea.
St. Cirq I never for one moment thought of you as a bloke. I think you write with a feminine touch!
I picture Ira rather thin and grey on top and a bit on the chunky side (not supersized or anything just solid) Agree with the glasses bit. I couldn't believe how young Texas Aggie was when we saw her lovely photos with her and her new puppy, I wasn't the only one either on that score.
