My Ring Road experience in Iceland

Hey travelers,

Just finally getting some time to start doing some blogging and reflections on trips I have done over the last four years. It's never too late to catch up right?!

I just finished a summary of my Ring Road road trip experience. It is no way comprehensive of the entire trip, but it has a little bit of information in it that may prove helpful for future travelers, and some photos that I took along the way. I'm still working on my blogging ability so don't critique my writing skills too harshly, I'm used to writing crime reports, not travel blogs :).

Here is the link to my website/blog: http://ericfrey2007.wixsite.com/eric.../The-Ring-Road

Hopefully this proves helpful for some people, as that's part of my goal with these entries!

I am in the process of planning our ring road trip for next summer, so enjoyed reading your post. We are trying to decide if there is a benefit of having a guide along on the trip. I really don't see one, but it seems like lots of people use guides. Any thoughts on this?

Sorry, I never did see this response!

My recommendation is go without a guide. It is impossible to get lost on the Ring Road, and with a travel map, a travel book or two, and Wi-Fi connection every so often, you should be fine!

I recommend doing some research on with travel books, or the internet before hand, like you are doing right now though. Just have the general areas you want to see figured out, but then leave time for all of the unexpected surprises along the way.

It was a amazing road trip, and I would definitely do it again. I recommend it as my favorite to anyone who ever asks me about my travels.

If you have any other questions, I'll pay more attention to this post!

Is 14 days enough time or too much time?

Your photos are stunning. Hopefully we will make it there in 2018. Thanks for posting.

I would say 14 days is a solid chunk of time. I could spend a month there and still not have enough time. It all depends on what you intend on doing! For a first time visit, 14 days should give you enough time to experience a lot though.

Also thanks for the feedback everyone :).

I'm glad to hear that! July would be an awesome month to go! I'm super jealous just hearing that. I hope it is a good time.
