Ladybug - It seems a shame to go to Capri and not find time to see the Amalfi Coast - the most beautiful coast in Europe IMO. And Pompei too. And ...

Couldn't you find another day for that area?

If not, - you could see both EN ROUTE - with careful planning, e.g.

- The AMALFI COAST en route to Capri on Day 5.
i.e. Take the train Rome-Salerno (instead of Naples), and the ferry/hydrofoil from there to Capri.
[This let's you see this wonderful coast, even if you don't stop].

- POMPEI en route to Florence on Day 7.

Just a thought ...

i agree it would be amazing to see more of the almalfi coast--too bad i am at the MAX regarding my time away from work etc--cant add on any time at but--however, i decided just to wet my tastebuds for the almalfi coast with a short visit to capri--and my master plan is to return to the almalfi coat exclusively the following year--maybe just wishful thinking--but im remain hopeful--thanks for all of you recs--i plan on using them considerably--IMO suggestions from others can turn a vacation into the experience of a lifetime--LADYBUG~

Dear Ladybug
I just wanted to recommend you do something I did the first time I went to Rome: get up at dawn and walk around the Roman sites, you will get a completely different dimension without the people milling around and the cars deafening you. Rome is glorious, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did then, and still do now.
