My French lessons

I posted a while back about my taking French. I was concerned about being taught by a French Canadian instead of a native of France. Well so far I give the experience an A+. The Professor is a very enthusiastic person to learn from. She has put us at ease and does not berate us for mistakes.
We have a textbook, workbook, cassette tapes (to work on pronunciation), cd roms and cd's. We also have access to a language lab where there are 2 full time French tutors (one from Paris one from the country of Zaire). The language lab has tons of things to read and watch and listen to in French. I must say that this is a more fun approach. I will keep you all posted on my progress. Thank you to the ones who responded to my much earlier post.
I have to admit that before I got started I felt intimidated by the entire prospect but now I feel excited and eager to learn.
I have to say that the tutors are fun because one comes from France and the other from Africa so I am learning about the culture as well. I wish I had done this a long time ago.
Mattie, how great that your experience is so positive! Bonne chance!

Well, Mattie, you should be so lucky, since you'll be exposed to four slightly different versions of French, which make our little francophone community so diverse: "metropolitan" Parisian French, Quebecois French, and with your tutor from Congo Kinshasa, Belgian and African French. Enjoy !
