Hi Paul,

Just wanted to say thank you for the awesome list! We are in the midst of planning our 16 day trip to Austria for next May and this has been most helpful.

The next time you're in the area, you might check out the new Ehrenberg Castle museum over near Reutte. We stumbled across is last May and thought it was one of the best museums we've seen anywhere in Europe.

Hi TexasAggie,
Thanks for the post! We are leaving in 3 weeks for Mosel/Rhine, Rothenberg and Ramsau (once again, we loved it last year) by Berchtesgaden. One place I can highly recommend in Austria is the Gasthof Badl in Hall in Tirol (6 miles east of Innsbruck). We've stayed here 3 times. Very nice place run/owned by absolutely wonderful people...Frau Steiner and her daughter Sonja.

Thanks again.

Aloha Paul,
Thank you so much for your report. I leave October 20th from Honolulu for Munich (united & Luftansa). I will then drive south to meet my family (for the 1st time) in Fussen. I have never been before so it was nice to read your report. These are the areas I will most likely be visiting as well. As I am from the Islands I was a bit worried about the tempeture as well and I am sure the higher the elevation the colder it will be. I am glad I took someones tip here on Fodors to buy some Silk Thermals. I cant say thatI have been in anything colder than the uper 50's. I have learned a few "Key" words and phrases, but not enough to really get by. I will have my pocket dictonary handy.

Mahalo,
Jeanne
