My Best Meal in Rome was at...?

I would love to hear where you had your best meal in Rome, and what made it so. And if you can give the general location or address of the restaurant, that would be a plus. Thanks.

Good afternoon, PAW
Here are my favorites in Rome.
RISTORANTE NINO, via Borgognona, 11 $$$
resvn a must, fills at 0730PM. Located
just short block south of bottom of
Spanish Steps to right on the Borgognona. (Roman Artichokes)
LA CAPRICCIOSA, Largo dei Lombardi, 8
$$$ resvn not req. Fills up early.
located about two blocks north of the
Condotti, in small square off the Corso.
(Basic simple roman food, excellant fish.) Have used since 1971..
AMBASCIATA D ABRUZZO, via Pietro Tacchini,26 $$$ resvm a must.
Have concierge make reservations the
day before and arrange for a taxi that
evening. Waiter will call taxi for your
return if so asked.. (Excellant variety
of antipasti and good foods, Abruzzi
style...) Fills up at 0730PM with both
locals and tourists.
Richard of La Grange Park, IL..

Al's 34 off of the Via Condotti near the Spanish Steps. Very charming inside and delicious food. Can't remember how expensive, but you don't need to dress way up to eat there. Be sure to get reservations. Always a line outside.

My 2 favorite restaurants in Rome were the L'Antica Enoteca on the Via Croce near the Spanish Steps. Its a wine bar with the most delicious Antipati and Salads, not to mention the wine! Wine is served by the glass with an extensive menu of wines from all over Italy.

My second choice is a simple restaurant near the Piazza Navona in Old Rome called the Antica Taverna at Vicolo della Monte Giordano 12. Its a simple place with the most dreamy pasta.

Try my websight for pictures and description of these and other restaurants in rome. its not completely finished by the Rome part is mostly done.

La Ramba near the Spanish Steps is a great place-casual with great food. Be sure to go inside-it is a beautiful place and not expensive!

Re Ferdinando on Via Sardinia, not far from the Spanish steps. It is everything you imagine a "real" Italian restaurant to be: small, intimate, family-owned and food to die for. It was located right around the block from our hotel, Hotel Regency. Ask for Giovanni. He'll take good, good care of you.

Restaurant Tullio near Piazza Barberini was wonderful. Few tourists and great service! Reasonably priced and delicous steak/lamb/pasta.

Ditiramba near Campo dei Fiori. Small restaurant with varied daily selections - each one we tried was excellent. Casual. Reservations suggested.
