Thanks everyone. I will try to find that thread and read it. I will take all your suggestions to heart and have a little talk with her first. The plans aren't set yet, just in the talking stages, but I will bring your points up to her. Happy New Year everyone.

Tina, I feel your pain. My boyfriend is exactly the same way. He once went to London with me in January and didn't bring a coat!! He also likes to sit at pubs and drink pints of lager til he falls over. This is what I do now: I tell him he has to stay at home--Im going alone. If you are uncomfortable traveling with your friend and she is ruining your vacation, I suggest you do the same think as I.

Funny, I had this same problem with my friend on our last trip to Italy, she wore flimsy clothes to Milan in the early Spring, nearly froze and didn't want to walk around.

We had to shop and buy her a wool sweater that was overpriced in a boutique in Milan, that taught her a lesson!
