MXP to Milano centrale

OK all you gurus out there...is it a realistic expectation to land at MXP at 0635, clear customs, hop on the bus, and be at milano centrale by 0900 to grab a train on a Thursday?
How has your experience gone at getting from MXP to milano via the shuttle bus?
thanx for your help ...

Well, I haven't done this in awhile from Malpensa, but I will be doing it again quite soon-I'd say, given morning rush hour traffic that may be cutting it a bit close- as the bus takes around 60-70 minutes to get to Centrale-but there could be traffic jams, and you could be delayed getting into MXP, I'd say 9:30 would be more like it, assuming no major unforeseen complications-I also seem to recall quite a walk from the aircraft to baggage claim as well.

Hi russwuf, believe the shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes so keep in mind you could have up to almost a 30 minute wait for the next one if you happen to miss one that has just left.

Hi r,

I think that if everything works perfectly you will just make it.

Probability of everything working perfectly........?

((I))

thanx for all the response so far...so it seems that being able to catch the 1000 Eurostar at milano centrale is more realistic yes?

Hi russwuf, you could grab the 9:00am train but probably if you figure you would get the 10:00am train it would be more realistic. But maybe you will be pleasantly surprised. Do have a wonder trip!

russwuf,

10am train seems more realistic than 9am. Think about non-EU immigration queue and wait to pick-up luggage at MXP.
Alternatively, you can take the Malpensa express to Milan-Cadorna, then transfer to Centrale either by taxi or subway if you don't have much luggage. At least you'll avoid traffic jam coming into the city.

No, that's not realistic for a Thursday.

Sorry, I didn't see your second post. The 10am Eurostar is realistic.
