MXP to Bellagio via pub. transportation?

I had been having a hard time figuring this thing out. I then read the boards, and now I'm really confused. I would greatly appreciate some clarification. We will be arriving at MXP around 2pm on Saturday and want to get to Bellagio by public transportation. We do not speak Italian.
Thank you

sorry....one thing I read is that there is a bus from Malpensa to Como that takes an hour. Does anyone know where I can find this bus & schedule?

I think you can get a train to Varenna and then take the ferry to Bellagio which is only 15 minutes.

Amp - Your best route at that time of day will be via Milan and Varenna as Elle says, i.e

- Malpensa to Milano Central by Airpoprt Shuttle bus:
http://www.malpensashuttle.it/e-default.htm

- Milano Centrale to Varenna by train:
www.trenitalia.it

- Vareenna to Bellaggio by ferry:

Hope this helps ..

Steve

P.S. There is a Malpensa-Como bus service as you say - but times are infrequent and there is no service to coicide with your arrival time:

You can go to Como but then you'll ahve to travel onward to Bellagio.

I would also recommend you get yourself from the airport, either by airport express bus or taxi) to Milano Centrale and take the train from there to Varenna. Lake views start at Lecco (sit on the left side facing forward for the best ones).

The trains run every two hours and the trip takes not quite 1.5 hours.

In Varenna-Esino you can either walk to the ferry dock (all downhill; takes about 10-15 minutes) or take one of the taxis which meets every arriving train.

Ferry to Bellagio takes 10-15 minutes. While you are waiting have some wine at the hotel/restaurant (sitting outside) across from the ferry dock ticket office..soak up that great lake atmosphere (or grab a bite at one of those snackbar vans that sometimes sets up at the ferry dock).

You do NOT have to speak Italian to do this or to enjoy the Lake.
