Must-See Rome By Night

Hi all .. I'm looking for suggestions for the best places to visit in Rome at night. I've found a few that look promising - Capitoline Hill, Piazza del Quirinale, Gianicolo Hill, etc.

We will be in Rome for 4 nights this June and are looking for some "late evening-night walks" that show off the best of Rome at night.

Suggestions ? Thanks in advance.

The Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona are all quite lively, and beautifully lit at night.

So, I understand, are the Colosseum and the Forum.

Walk up the stairs on the Capitoline hill and then gaze at the well lit Forum and Colosseum. It's quiet at night and absolutely stunning. My photographs from that night, the first night of our honeymoon, are amazing.

I thought the Vittorio Emanuelle II monument was quite beautiful at night. Especially with the tons of birds circling over it in the lights. :)

Yes, the Colosseum was also quite striking lit up at night.

The Tiber and St. Peter's as the lights come on at dark seen from Castel Sant'Angelo.

You have some great suggestions already; if you want a plotted-out route, I have found the "Rome by Night" (or something to that effect) walk in Rick Steves' Italy book is a good one...

I can't remember if he mentions the Forum, so definitely include that.

Statia, I also love those circling, lit-up birds in the night sky!
