Must I pre-book a hotel in Paris?
 

I am going to Paris for 4 days (hotel is booked) and then on to Greece for 10. I am spending a last night in Paris at the end of this trip. Must I book the last night in Paris now, can I wait until I get to Paris and then arrange something with my hotel then? Its September 23rd.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES <BR>One rule to follow. Never go to a big city and not have a room. You have nothing to loose but that the last thing you want to do is spend a day riding around in a taxi with luggage looking for hotel room. Save the pain, book it

I would also second the Yes Yes Yes. We have a very similar itinerary only our last night we are in London (returning from Greece also). The last thing you want to do is get off a plane and stand around tourist info for hours trying to find a room that is convenient to the airport and transportation and in your budget. Expecially cities like Paris or London and September is an increasingly busy travel month. <BR>We booked our last night in London at an inexpensive B & B near Hyde Park so that I can get up and run before sitting all day on the plane. Have a great trip.

We visited Paris this summer for 1 week and had reservations. Decided to cut our country-side traveling short and get to Paris 1 day early. Unfortunately, that day they had a major concert downtown at Eiffel Tower (1 million people attended!)so I had a heck of a time getting a room. Thought we would have to spend the night on the park bench! Finally did get a good room, even in the area we wanted. But goes to show that the unexpected happens and if it does, the least it may cost you is a higher rate!

YES!!! I've booked 6 months in advance and wound up in my 12th, 14th, 20th choice hotel. It's one thing to do that from the comfort of your own computer; you DON'T want to be doing it while you're in Paris and could be doing fun stuff!

As long as you know the exact date, why wouldn't you? I don't understand why you don't want to. That is a very busy time in Paris so perhaps you could book something in Paris but you may spend hours at that task and have to settle for something not good value or in a bad or inconvenient area, so what's the point.
