"Must Dos" and Souvenir Shopping in Prague
What are some wonderful souvenirs that people bought in Prague? Also, what are some of the "must not be missed" attractions and/or restaurants in Prague?

There is a chain of stores called "Blue" which sells all sorts of Czech glass..cheaper there than in the US before possible shipping costs/insurance charges are added.
The astronomical clock off the Hus square is a visitor magnet as is the Charles Bridge.
As crazy as it may sound, we actually had a relaxed and very locals-oriented meals at the covered outdoor restaurants near the Astronomical Clock. If you do this, watch for the "artists" who cut people's silhouettes out and then offer them to the unsuspecting individual for sale (no pressure or obligation to buy these).
The Loretto has an interesting collection of jewel encrusted monstrances in the "vault room" that has to be seen to be believed even by those who do not subscribe to the Roman Catholic reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.
The Castle Complex and St. Vitus cathedral as mentioned above.
Marionette performances are fun if you have the time.
Get ready for lots of gold leaf and baroque adornment, particularly inside the many churches.
The half-day tour of the city can also be interesting and informative.

Here, some of our "must do" .
-- the Castle complex, with, of course, a visit to the Cathedral.
-- the Jan Huys monument, rally close to the Clock Tower.
--the Clock Tower.
-- the Charles Bridge, and you must touch the dog.
-- the monument to the victims of comunism, the dancing houses and the church where the killers of Heydrich took shelter and died, all those sites are close to each other.
-- a must read before going to Prague is HHhH.....dont miss this book.
--the monument to Jan Palach....not big, but moving, because of who Jan Palach was.
--we did some very simple meals at the shopping mall near the Powder Tower, and I took lots of fun with the pictures hanging in the walls of the gentlemens bathroom.
Enjoy your trip to this charming city!......we did....

This thread is 10 years old and was topped today by an obvious advertiser (triangled) but while we're on the topic:
We love the glassware we've bought in Prague, but we don't buy Bohemia, that's everywhere. Instead we bought a few items from Bue Praha, mentioned above (http://www.bluepraha.cz/), Artel (http://www.artelglass.com/crystal-glassware/motifs/) or Moser in its beautiful historic shop: http://www.moser-glass.com/en/pages/...na-prikope-12/
