Sorry for the confusion in my previous post. You'll fall in love with Paris, not in Paris. My wife, who had a phobia of flying and particularly over water, absolutely fell in love with Paris on our trip. So much so that she is the driving force in our plans to return in 08.

I, too find it amazing how my wife has stamina for endless shopping, but does get weary on double dip museum trips! Once again, please consider a trip report!

I would definitely include Orangerie (nice & small but with the breathtaking Monet lily panels) and it is near D'Orsay. Versailles is a day-trip out of the city, but you can do Louvre top highlights in 4 hrs, stop at Angelina on Rue Rivoli for Chocolate d'Africain (another do-not-miss)for lunch, then hit L'Orangerie and if you have time the D'Orsay (perhaps evening hours?). On my 5th trip to Paris, finally got to the Musee Decoratif on Rue Rivoli, but I am a designer, so that is my thing.Also thought the collections in the Petit & Grand Palais most worthwhile-- the buildings are spectacular on the Champs D'E -- and would rank them above the Paris Pantheon and Army for sure; they are right along the Seine too. But not miss the Notre Dame towers. Oh I wish I could go again!

Seriously, if your schedule is so tight that an hour or so at a museum will disrupt it, you are much, much too overplanned.

With only 5 days, I suggest skipping Versailles, especially in January.

You should definitely consider the Orangerie.
