Museum tickets in advance?

Will we need to get tickets to the Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Mauritshuis and M.C. Escher museums? I like to be flexible and be able to do indoor activities when the weather dictates, so I'd rather just run over before the doors open, but if you all think that is a bad idea... This is for the end of September. Thanks again, everyone.

In June having advance tickets definitely saved about 30-60 minutes waiting for the Rijks and van Gogh museums. Escher and Mauritshuis had no lines.

by the Netherlands Museum Card which pays for itself with about 3 major museums and gives your priority entrance at many - buy it at museums themselves.

Valid for one year - no photo required they say.

Valid also at Anne Frank House and you can still reserve a slot to avoid the long wait always there.,

PalenQ: Am I crazy that I have no desire to go inside the Anne Frank House? I read the book when I was 13 and it affected me so much that I don't actually have to see it. In adding up the cost of the other 4, it doesn't seem I would be coming out ahead. But convince me, if I'm wrong. ;-)

What is the cost of the other 4? If it approaches the cost of the national museum pass - valid at Mauritshuis of course then go for it - when I have one I go into so so many museums I would not have paid to do so and often are delighted - like in Amsterdam:

Our Lord in the Attic
The Remebrandt House
The Troppen Museum - a real charmer - showcases life in the tropics esp former Dutch colonies - re-created street scenes - a really fun museum
The Botanical Gardens
the Scheepvaart Museum of old Dutch sailing ships
The Resistance Museum documenting Holland's long occupation by Nazis and resistance to them
The City of Amsterdam museum
the Stedelijk Modern Art Museum next to Van Gogh
and on and on... come and go in say the Van gogh one day and another, etc,

Priority entrance at many but not all - 60 euros for one year's entries and no name on it always in my case could bring back yourself or give to someone else (not technically supposed to do but)

Not sure Escher Museum is covered - see list in link

Oh and no I do not think you must visit the Anne Frank House or rijksmuseum or any museum unless you really want to.

I think I am pushing it with these 4! But thanks,PalenQ! ;-)
