museum in Alsace
 

Hello
We are a family ( 2 adults and 2 daugters- 5,9)
We are going to visit Alsace in april.
Can anyone recomend attractions for childeren in that area.
Also- i heard about - Electropolis museum in Mulhouse. Is it souitable for childers
that donwt speak franch or german.

There is an outdoor museum (I can't find the name) It is kind of like Old Sturbridge Village or Plimoth Plantation. Demonstrations and hands on of old-time Alsace. Should be interesting. There are hikes in the vineyard trail, and bikes for rent everywhere. And in Strasbourg and Colmar there are canal rides. We are planning a trip in May, this is only from what I have read. We are still looking for a gite there. Also there is the stork sanctuary.

The outdoor museum is the Ecomusée d'Alsace, and is located between Comar and Mulhouse. It's certainly worth a visit.

However, for children, you should certainly look into the Europark in Rust, Germany, near Freiburg. It's just across the Rhine from Alsace, and is billed as Germany's largest amusement park.

If your children are interested in castles, don't miss a visit to Haut Koenigsbourg. Nearby, you can stop at the Montagne des Singes, a game reserve home to hundreds of Barbary apes (macaques).

The stork sanctuary (actually a breeding program) is in a park called the Orangerie in Strasbourg. You hear the stork bills clacking as you enter the area. There is a small petting zoo also. The entire park is a great place for children.

I realy need to know if anyone visit the Electropolis museum in Mulhouse and can tell me if it suitable for family who speak only english?

Sisi. I thought of another posibility. In the Voges (sp) there is a place called the balloon I think. It is a mountain luge. Maybe others know more. And the trains in Mulhouse. My bet is not to many museums.

The Grand Ballon is the highest peak in the Vosges and the Ballon d'Alsace is another of the peaks. There are ski resorts at both locations, and there may be luge as well. Frankly, I can't imagine that a luge run would be suitable for children (or even most adults). The snow conditions will be dicey in April, and there are far better things to do in Alsace. If you're looking for a ski vacation, there are better places to go.

I've not been to the Electropolis Museum, so can't advise on its suitability for children.
