Museum Cards (Muzekart)

These are very good value now that there are several regional ones available for tourists - Istanbul, Aegean, Mediterranean and Cappadocia. I've been following a trip report on another forum where the visitor bought the Mediterranean card (60TL for 7 days) and within the week he had clocked up 170TL's worth of site entries out of it.

Unfortunately I'm not able to access the website at the moment - https://www.muze.gov.tr/ - possibly because of recent hacking attacks from an unknown(?) source.

P.S. I forgot to mention the big one (185TL for 15 days?) that covers almost everything. I think I might try a "Muzekart Madness" trip next year to see how many I can fit it.

The Museum Card makes even more sense after the latest news:
Record rise in museum prices

Croesus, thanks for the very useful thread.

The new entry fees have not yet been reflected in the long term museum passes as far as I can se from the following link :

http://www.muzekart.com/en/museum-pa...ntages_29.html

The museum pass appears to have some very useful and some unnecessary perks.

Just the 30% discount on an airport shuttle could pay for the cost of the museum pass.

Having looked at the sites available with the Aegean Museum Pass - https://www.muze.gov.tr/tr/kartlar-v...talari_77.html - I notice there are a couple of glaring omissions: neither Troy nor Euromos are on the list.

And I see that there is a small overlap with the Mediterranean pass - Xanthos and Letoon.

I also think that apart from the Cappadocia pass (45TL, 3 days), I would like to see a 7-day Central Anatolia pass to include Çatalhöyük, Sultanhanı, Konya, Gordion, Ankara and Hattuşa etc, some of which are not even on the full 15-day pass, although Kaman Kalehöyük Arkeoloji Müzesi is! (well done the Japanese!).
Probably not enough tourist demand for that.

I'll have to see how much has changed when the new prices are published in the new year (4th January). Here are the sites by province with current prices:

I think it would take quite a bit of planning to get full use out of the 15-day pass - https://www.muze.gov.tr/en/cards-and...-sales_93.html - and I've already visited 51 of the sites.

Two years ago I bought the Aegean Museum Pass for 125TL, it worked well. The price has shot up to 325TL now - one would have to visit quite a few to make that work. But the entrance to Ephesus including terraced houses is 145TL, so doing a few of the big sites would probably be worth having the pass for.

I see Pamukkale is included in the Aegean pass, 80TL, plus museum 12TL and Laodicea 25TL.
Throw in Pergamon acropolis (50TL) and Aesclepion (45TL), and you're easily ahead.

They've been changing the Muze website, here it is again - https://muze.gov.tr/urun-detay?Catal...B-MSP01-26-008
