Musee Marmottan
I have looked on maps to try to find the best way to this musee via metro. Any tips or directions would be greatly appreciated. With the L'Orangerie closed I really want to make the trip to see the Monets in the Marmottan.
Merci!
Vicki
I have been trying to figure an answer to the same question, too. As near as I can tell it is a toss up between La Muette and Ranelagh. My map shows both stations on Line 9.
I believe that La Muette is the closer metro stop to the museum. If I remember correctly, there is a sign directing one to the museum after exiting the metro station. Just walk through the park, about 5 minutes, and you're there.
Good luck.

La Muette it is. The walk is *very* pleasant through the park as indicated. There is a bus also from someplace near the Champs Elysee, but beats me whihc one. We asked -- they pointed -- we got on and viola! we were there.

Or if you are anywhere near the #63 bus line, take it to the end of the line, Porte de la Muette/Henri Martin. From there, go in the opposite direction of where the bus is pointed when it stops. Follow Avenue Raphaël to Louis Boilly (on your right). It is only a quarter of a block from the corner. There are signs after you leave the bus. You can get the bus at Gare de Lyon, Saint-Sulpice, Gare des Invalides, Tocadero, and points between these stations. In my opinion, the Marmottan is better than the Orangerie, but, of course, it would be nice to see both.

We've done this route many times - take the Metro to LaMuette and then it's a short walk through a lovely park (Ranelagh) to the Marmattan - it's very simple to find and the neighborhood is lovely as well.

Thanks for the directions! Sounds easy.
Vicki
