Murren to Lugano - by train

OK, when I plug in Murren to Lugano on SBB.ch, I get different routes, different trip durations. I would like the most scenic, fastest route. Suggestions please. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ronda, I checked the SBB, and all the choices look pretty similar to me. The route from Lucerne down to Lugano is really beautiful. I think I'd choose the time and route with the fewest changes. Twice I've approached Lugano from Brig (after staying once on Lac Leman and once on Lake Thun), and I have to say I really did not enjoy the last leg of that rail journey from Domodossola to Locarno -- the little train was very uncomfortable and made a zillion stops. So if by chance that comes up as an option, I'd pass on it. By the way, I think you're going to get a kick out of the contrast between the Oberland and Ticino. J.

Yes, JW, I saw that there are a couple of options. I am interested in the W. Tell route (I believe that is the scenic route from Lucerne to Lugano). I know I have seen somewhere on the board that from Lucerne you take a boat, then the train. I don't want to take the boat just meet up with the train, if that is possible. Back to my research. Thank you.
