Murano Italy - shops/glass factory opening time.
 

I plan to be in Venice in late August and want to visit the island of Murano. When does the shops/glass factory opens?

They generally open at 9. The workshops close at 4 PM, but may accept visitors only until 2. The shops close considerably later.

I may be wrong, but I think most (all?) of the glass factories on Murano are closed in August. But shops will be open and there will probably still be a free glass making demo somewhere on the island that you can view.

If you want to buy a piece of Murano glass, make sure you're buying something made on Murano (and not elsewhere in Italy or in China). Whether you buy on Murano or elsewhere in Venice, the piece should have this sticker:
