Munich to Garching an Der Alz
 

I am planning a trip to Germany next year, staying in Munich, and I am looking to visit a samml town east of Munich called Garching an Der Alz. It doesnt look like the trains go that far. I was wondering if you can hire taxi's to bring you basically an hours drive away from the city.

I entered Munich Hauptbahnhof (main rail station) to Garching an der Arz and got a transit time of 1 hr 49 minutes, changing in Muldorf (Oberbay), using the Regionalbahn (slow trains, frequent stops in the samll towns of the area).

Looks like MOST hours there is a departure at :06 or :07 after the hour (not 13:06 ?why), and it costs 18,10 Euro one way 2nd class. Hourly trains decrease after 18:00...

Thank you sooo very much. My great grandfather built a house in Wald an der Alz, and I really wanted to visit the town.
