Munich the week after Oktoberfest?
 

Hello all,

We've had to make big changes to our trip and as of now, we may be arriving in Munich on October 13th or 14th for a few days before heading off to the rest of our trip.

My question: is Munich suffering a "hangover" in the weeks following Oktoberfest? We're not going to Munich just for beer etc.; we want to see the city and the area but we'd like a bit of biergarten fun, if available.

In Munich it is quite common to see people enjoying their first beer(s) of the day early in the morning, no matter the time of year, so don't worry about things being slow in that department...plenty of places to enjoy such as they'll already be planning next year's event. Enjoy your trip.

Nope, it will be fine! The crowds will be gone and things back to normal. The biergartens will be fine, just not overcrowded like they are during Oktoberfest.

I want to go to Octoberfest next year. Can someone please tell me the best time and place to be in Germany, thank you!
