Munich Plus Itinerary?

I can fly (mid week) RT Florida to Munich for LESS THAN $500.
Can someone suggest an itinerary? Love art, classical music, ballet, museums and theater. Would love to visit Budapest. Since I travel Wednesday-to-Wednesday, not much time for inter-city travel. Renting a car is not out of the question

There is a ton of great places to visit w/in easy reach of Munich. In addition, Munich is a great base of operations due to the Deutsch Bahn. I probably wouldn't wander any farther than Vienna but would suggest, Salzburg, Rothenburg, Wurzburg, Nurnburg, Garmisch, Fussen, etc. There is a number of recent trips on here that may give you some ideas. A car is hardly necessary but would be to your advantage if touring the Mosel or some, more remote areas.

As much as I love Munich with your interests it is too bad you couldn't fly to a different city which caters to more of your interests in ONE place for the same price.

Munich has great art museums and pretty fair opera. Not to mention Ompah bands and beir by the leiter. There is easy access to Salzburg (Mozart's hometown) and all the Ludwig castles in the surrounding alps. Go for it. You will have a great time.

The Bayern Pass, if it's still available, is a bargain round-trip train fare to visit Salzburg, Fussen, etc. from Munich. It costs only about 30+EU for up to FIVE people RT. Easy day trips and very pleasant way to travel. Have fun!
