Munich Hotels
 

Going to be in Munich area during last week of Octoberfest. Interested in hotels. Have heard of one named Sol Inn in Munich. Does anyone have any first hand information on good hotels at reasonable rates in or around Munich? <BR> <BR>Thanks, <BR> <BR>Ted

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. Search on Munich and I think some old postings will come up. Hotel Uhland was one that was recommended. You will find, I fear, that Oktoberfest prices are double normal rates and many places are already fully booked.

Ted: I believe that you'll find that Bob is right, they will be expensive. <BR> <BR>We are booked at the Hotel Uhland Garni for May. It was recommended on this site. They are right by the fairgrounds, so location is great. We stayed at the Hotel Uhland 2 years ago and probably have recommended the place countless times. Location is great-out of the congestion, but withing walking distance. It has alot of charm, good breakfast, GREAT featherbeds and a nice host. Our room even had an outdoor balcony. When we booked it was cheaper over the internet. If you decide to stay longer, make sure you get the internet price.Not sure if that still holds true. You can buy tickets for the train at the hotel. <BR> <BR>Enjoy, <BR>Denise <BR>

We recently spent a couple nights at the Hotel Jedermann which is only a couple blocks west of the Cetral Bahnhof. It's near the Wies (Oktoberfest Meadows) and reasonably priced. Our family of 4 shared a room for 200 DM per night. We also got our best breakfast buffet of our trip there. A huge selection of rolls, meats, juices and fruit. We were also allowed to use the hotel's computer to surf the Net and retrieve E-mail. The trolley stops right in front. Check it out at http://www.hotel-jedermann.cube.net/
