Munich hotel? Where to stay?
Hello!
We will arrive in Munich on a Friday and spend the evening and Saturday exploring around before taking a train to Salburg on Sunday morning. We don't need anything fancy (we will be super jetlagged!), but comfortable and in an area close to transportation and important sites since we don't have much time...
I've narrowed down my search to these 2 hotels:
http://www.demas-city.de/index_eng.html
http://www1.hilton.com/fr/hi/hotel/M...-City/index.do
Is it better to stay near the train station, or near at the Hilton which seems very well connected to the airport and the train station?
Any other suggestions are also welcome!
Merci!

IMO, neither. The Hilton is especially far removed.
Here is a place much closer in (located inside the old city walls, unlike the Demas and Hilton), just as nice as the other two, and cheaper:

www.lemeridienmunich.com If you take the S1 or S8 from the airport, as soon as you leave the train station complex and look right, you see the Meridien. Great if you have Starwood points. A short walk to the old city walls. Sunday morning you are right at the train station.

I'll second the recommendation for the Concorde. We've stayed there a number of times over the last several years. Great location on a quiet side street but convenient to transportation and right downtown, near the Isartor. If you stay there, eat at Zum Dornbraue, which is right around the corner.

The one advantage of staying at the Hilton Munich City is that it is directly over an S-Bahn stop from which you can easily take a train to the Ostbahnhof and get your train to Salzburg from there
