MUNICH - Hotel Platzl or Am Markt Hotel?
 

Hello, Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? We are deciding between the two. Both are near the Marienplatz, with the Hotel Platzl being much more expensive. <BR>Thank you.

I have only stayed at the Platzl in Munich. The rooms were very nice and had a lot of character. I loved the location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was really superb. Yes, it seemed expensive to me, but I had nothing else to compare it with. It is popular with tour groups -- many of them German.

I agree with Patrick - the Platzl is nice - I've been there several times. Be advised that one part of it is directly across the street from the Hofbrauhaus - this can be a great location but if you are trying to get to sleep at 1AM the noise may bother you, or you can get up and go get another beer!

What's a hotel?

Really, why waste people's time?

I have not stayed at the Am Markt but have heard it was very good.I know first hand that the area around Hofbrauhaus is noisy at night. I don't think you would want that myself.People are on the street late at night but if the night life doesn't bother you go for the Hotel Platzl.Have fun

Both are in the Marienplatz area. You coulnd't ask for a better location. The Platzl is a little higher class hotel. I've been by the Am Markt but never stayed there. Either one would be a good choice.
