Munich hotel options

Can anyone comment on any of the following hotels?
Leonardo Hotel Munich
Europaischer Hof,
Mercure Hotel Munchen,
and Neurperlach Sud.

Looking for something in the 150-220 range for a family of 3-husband, wife (me) and 21 y.o. "child."
We've never been to Munich. Don't mind walking. Would prefer old-world charm over sleekness, but I'm learning that my price range limits me. I thought the Hotel Monaco looked fun, but my husband would take one look at the TA visitor picture of The Candy Bar across the street and veto it.

Make that The Leonardo Royal Hotel.

The Leonardo is bright modern and certainly a good hotel, but, of course, has no old-world charm. The other hotels you have selected have neither.

Use www.hrs.com and see what they offer for the dates you want to travel.

We once stayed in this country inn which is out of town but has an excellent S-Bahn connection into the city center:

It would make a typical Bavarian experience with a beautiful beer garden etc.

As new visitors to Munice I encourage you to select one of the dozens of all class hotels near the main train station. It will give you easy access to the Central area, public transportation and trains if you need those.

I think the Leonardo is in that area. The area is typically like any big city with a variety of everything from shopping to strip joints. We never feel threatened by that but we don't go down any dark alleys. Just be sensible.

We like the Drei Lowen n that area. rates at all these hotels vary depending on demand, going way up during Oktoberfest.

Another hotel to consider for the family is the Uhland hotel that is in a residential neighborhood near the Oktoberfest grounds.
