Friend is booking me into Motel One in Munich in May...anyone stayed there?

Also if you have visited any recommendations on sights and or/tours to see?

Never stayed in Motel One.

How many days will you be there? Interests? Budget?

2 nites on a budget. not more than $125 a nite

Museums, concerts & historical places on my agenda,

The Deutsches Museum is really spectacular, a little bit of everything in technology.

The Bayerisches Nationalmuseum is surprisingly cool. Great wood carvings.

I really enjoyed the Alte Pinakothek, a great collection of old masters, especially Rubens.

Nymphenburg Palace is well worth a visit and make sure you take a ride to Dachau.

Munich is such a great, fun city -- don't miss the Asamkirche (looks like nothing from the outside but awesomely baroque inside), and of course, the Hofbrauhaus.

Make sure you visit Dachau. It is easily reachable by public transit.

My son stayed in Motel One last year and really liked it.
There are several locations. He was in Sendlinger Tor. His comment was that it looked exactly like the website. The rooms are small.

You should check with your friend to see which location he/she is booking for you.

The rooms have either double or queen beds, no twin beds. The room sizes are the same, queen just takes up more floor space. The bathrooms/showers are very nice, limited counter space.
Breakfast was good, extra charge.

Munich is a really fun town! I lived there for a few months. In May will be a great time to go. My honest advice is to get lost and discover the city. My favorite days where when I would randomly walk around, people watch and discover hidden cafes or pubs. Make sure to drink lots of delicious beer, you can find a beer garden pretty much around every corner. For a nice afternoon stroll, I suggest hitting up a local market, grab some different foods and drinks. Then heading to the Englischer Garten for a picnic. It is a VERY cool park. Super romantic if you want it to be, full of old temples and unique people. If you walk far enough down it will lead you to a huge beer garden with a chinese feel. (sounds weird, but the building is just a chinese tower… trust me, its cool!) I went by myself and ended up making friends. Grab a big beer and turkey leg. Have fun and remember to drink lots of beer!
