Munich - finding a suite
I am searching for a suite in central Munich with two rooms for three people as opposed to a triple room. Can anyone help? I've never been to Munich.
Many thanks, Dolf |
try the Mandarin Oriental.

The Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is the grand hotel in the old manner in Munich. It's just behind the Opera House on one of the best streets in Munich. It has all kinds of suites, from junior to luxury.

Here is the link to the Munich Tourist Office in English. Click on Accommodation. It lists just about every hotel in Munich by area. Many have direct links to their web sites.
http://www.muenchen-tourist.de/englisch/index_e.htm This way you can do a little research on your own and then come back here for specific suggestions. Otherwise, all you are going to get are recommendations for a bunch of different hotels which will really just confuse the issue. Curious |
I agree completely with Curious..there are several hotels that are both centrally located and that offer "suite" accommodations.
Eloise, to some, is being charitable about the "Four Seasons" which has been described from everything between "wonderful" and "snobby" regardless of its location. Since what is "wonderful" or "snobby' is a matter of subjectivity you might want to do some research on your own first. |
TopMan: Charitable? I think most people would agree that the Vier Jahreszeiten is "the grand hotel in the old manner" in Munich. I did not introduce judgments about "wonderful" or "snobby"; you did. And it goes without saying, as far as I'm concerned, that the OP would do his own research.

Exquisit Hotel in Munich.
My regular room at this nice hotel was as large as a suite; good news is that they have suites here as well. This was my oasis during one of Europe's worst heat spells last year. It sits on a quiet residential street in the shade, pristine and quiet, immaculate and clean, upscale yet moderately priced. I paid 100E for a room with a balcony and huge breakfast. I thought I misheard the price and had to call back. See tripadvisor for more details. |
