Munich & Bavaria in March

Hello -
We will be travelling to Munich in March and would like to see the nearby Bavarian towns as well.

We were planning to drive around and were wondering if most roads would be open or snowed out. I was especially looking for information on Rotheburg/Romantic Road & Neuschwanstein castle and Fussen area.

Thanks
Drop me an Email, Reena. I can give you a few driving itineraries in Upper Bavaria that will get you to three Bavarian castles, two magnificent Baroque churches, the cog rail to the Zugspitze, any number of charming villages, Wieskirche, Alpine lakes, Alpine vistas, none of which involve extensive driving.

You will have no problems. We were in Bavaria in December. One day we left Garmisch and went to Innsbruck. Saw the Christmas fair there in old town and then decided to back track to Munich on the spur of the moment. We were able to get to Munich, do the downtown fair there and get back to Garmisch at a very reasonable time. Not the best planning, but no big deal.

The "back route" from Garmisch to Neuschanstein through Reutte and Austria was very pretty. We had done the all German route before and I recommend this way to go or come as it avoids back tracking as you drive to castle. Check it out on the map.
