Munich Airport Hotel

Looking for a reasonably priced/clean hotel near the airport (we leave for US at 6:55 AM). We are a family of 4. Would be great if we could get into Munich by train from the hotel, just to visit a bit. Any recommendations?

Kempinski Aiport hotel is inside the airport minutes away from the check in counter starting at 99 euro for a 4 star hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel zur Gred in Freising the last two years when flying out of the Munich Airport.

Freising is accessible to Munich on both the S1 Sbahn Line and by frequent regional trains. It is a 15 minute, 25 euro, taxi ride to the airport from the train station. Hotel zur Gred is <10 minutes from train station.

We also enjoy spending our last day in the small Bavarian town of Freising.

Regards, Gary

I like Freising too. Can recommend the Novotel. It has a vaulted beer cellar and a beer garden. You can walk to restaurants in the area.

Hi,
While we have also stayed by Freising at the Movenpick (better with a car, it's outside of town) we stayed last year at the Park Hotel (Best Western) in Erding. The train station is a block away and the very charming old town of Erding is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is approx. 15 min. from the airport. Very good place to spend your last night in Germany.

KEMPINSKI:
One big advantage of staying inside the airport itself is not needing a taxi/train. You can just walk to check in very early and then walk back to the KEMPINSKI hotel for breakfast/relaxation and walk back with your carry on to board the plane. You save money & time. If your plane destination is non US/UK then you can even check your baggage the night before.

Hi
We stayed at the Kempinski last Sept. I wish I knew where one of the writers got a 99 eur. price for the room. We paid almost 400 eur.. My wife checked the other day and it was 395 eur during the wk and 275 eu on the wkend. We tried different discounts including airline employee [my wife] but it was unavailable when we were there. The convenience is great, able to walk across to the airport in about 5 min. In the past we/ve stayed at both the Steiger and the Steigermaxx. Both very nice hotels with complementry shuttles to the airport. We have found that with an early morning flight we feel better staying right at the airport. The rooms at the Kempinski are beautiful but you have to decide for yourself their worth.

Thank you all this has been very helpful.

Kempinski and all hotels in Munich & surriundings become very expensive only during high occupancy periods such as in September when there are big international conferences and Oktoberfest. All other times they charge as low as 99 euro a night. I wouldn't go to Munich during those expensive convention periods because the hotel cost tripples.

We stayed at the Kempinski Hotel at the airport also because of the convenience. Very nice hotel.

We paid 119E; which we got off of their website. There is a fare you can get if you are only staying one night, flying in or out.
