Hello, all. Thank you for all the comments.. re the listing of the days, I do have it setup a bit different on my sheet.. still lots to learn about the best posting formats I guess... I do realize that travel days can't be fully counted. Good point about the dat trips and being able to move around without bags.

So... I think I finally got it to follow the suggestions... talking to hubby April/May is not as great for wind probabilities as the summer for Morocco and Spain, but decided to take our chances anyway based on the recommendations. Thank you MmePerdu for the comment about Essouira and Tarifa.

I'm planning on posting a few questions about country-specific itineraries on separate posts, but was wondering if I could run something by you all here... trying to arrange Germany, Prague and Switzerland. Found a nicely priced flight Athens/Berlin. What do you think about placing Prague in between like this:

Athens/Berlin - flight
Berlin/Dresden - bus
Dresden/Prague - bus
Prague/Munich - bus
Bavaria area - Car rental
Lucerne/Lauterbrunnen (Not sure if train or maybe drive since I plan on renting a car around Bavaria...)
Fly to Ireland

Thank you very much!

Why buses? I much prefer the train - more space and you can keep an eye on your luggage.

For train info see seat61.com

Thank you thursdayd... sorry about the delay in replying to your post but it takes me so long to plan all this.... I was trying to see if I had more questions. I mentioned buses because I thought as a general rule they would be cheaper than the train, but I actually looked and there are some of them that might the same cost. so thank you for the tip!

Yes why buses when trains can be so cheap with advance discounted tickets at 19-29 euros on all those legs. Buses are just not as comfy as trains - may not even have bathrooms. Plus can see lots better out train windows and Dresden-Saxon Switzerland-Prague is really scenic - sit on east side of train for best views of sandstone cliffs topped by forts.
