Mt.Pilatus?
How much is it to do the much talked about cog wheel tour and what is it? Do you go up in a cable car and down with a cog wheel? HELP!

Read this: http://goswitzerland.miningco.com/tr...y/aa122797.htm

Not to worry. It is a fun ride and the car is enclosed.
Nina, as Bob says, don't worry. It's a fun trip with an incredible view. Don't remember the price but it's reasonable and worth it.

A marvelous 30-50 minute journey. While only a short mountain, the view is brilliant on a clear day.

Cable car from Kriens; alternatively the steepest cograil in Switzerland from Alpnachstad. Can buy a 'circle' roundtrip for the full experience.

Either point easily accessible from Luzern. Alpnachstad by boat or train; Kriens by tram.

No info on current prices. Been a couple of years since our last ascent. I'd guess roughly $45 or a bit more ... possibly less.

More info at www.twenj.com/swissdest.htm

Rome.Switzerland.Bavaria
www.twenj.com

Did a round trip 30- years ago - boat from Luzern, cog railway up, big cable car down, then small cable car for quite a while, then bus - it was great

my daugher and I went in April 16 years ago. There was still ice at the top and we had to to walk through a tunnel of ice. The view was spectacular. It was well worth whatever price they charged.

Nina,
If you have the opportunity, do it! The boat ride from Luzurn is very nice, as is the cog wheel ride up the mountian (-: Nothing too scary, really. At the top, well, just spectacular (on a clear day). Be sure to take the cable car down. It's a trip you'll be glad you took.
