Mozart dinner concert
Hello,
I tried to get tickets to the dinner concert in St. Peter's but there are no tickets available for the main room. There are tickets for the Haydn Room. Has anyone ever done this? I've e-mailed the venue to ask the difference, but I'd like to hear from someone first-hand. I don't want to be disappointed and feeling like we're in the coat closet! Our time in Salzburg is extremely limited so it would be great if we could combine dinner and a concert. Thanks. |
"No main room" means "no concert".
Sorry to give you the bad news. Best wishes, Rex |
Such a bummer. They sent me some pictures and it isn't at all what I had in mind. It was nice that they were honest.
Thanks for your reply though. |
You could try the dinner concert in the fortress or the Schloss Mirabel concert (which does not have an on-site dinner but does have an arrangement with the nearby Stieglbrau restaurant for a dinner there and concert at Mirabel). The music at Mirabel is generally the best of the three and the fortress dinner, while not as good as St. Peters, is in a room with awesome views.

Thank you so much. I read somewhere about the Schloss Mirabel but not the fortress. I will look into them both. It would be great if I can combine dinner because the latest concerts seem to start at 8 and not having to eat before will allow us some more much needed time to wander the city.

Just to confirm. I want to avoid the Haydn room, correct? I should only go see the concert if the Baroque room is available?
|
I would say yes. The room doesn't look anything like the Baroque room. To me it seemed like sitting in the broom closet at a wedding! Sadly we're skipping Salzburg completely now. I found it was very easy to get a hotel but hard to get concert tickets on the weekend.
