Moustache - New Bistro on Rue Sainte Beuve in Paris

We were going to dine at the restaurant next door,, which was closed, and, by good fortune, looked in on Moustache (located at 3, Rue Sainte Beauve (metro: Notre Dame des Chanps - very nearby). .Phone # 01 42 22 56 65. This was a wonderful dining experience. The interior is simple, but attactive, with exposed brick walls, and white table cloths. The food we ordered was among the best we've had in Paris. We started with an appetizer of salmon marinated in a very tangy citrus dressing, followed by supreme de volaille fermier -- again the creamy sauce was delicious. We then had a rich chocolate mousse. The bill for one salmon appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and two glasses of house wine was 62 euro. In talking to the chef -- who is very friendly, -- we learned they have only been open a couple months. We very much enjoyed this restaurant.
The name is simply Moustache (there's another similarly named Cafe M--). Will post photos when I write my trip report.

Thank you. I usually stay in that general area when in Paris, so it's good to know about this restaurant.

I do know of a Café Moustache near Gare de l'Est that caters to mature men with special interests.

John Talbott wrote about this place today on Paris by Mouth, so you are in good company! He thinks it may be the next Spring or Frenchies!

We loved it and I decided to write about it because I'm hoping they'll be in business next time we come back. The salmon appetizer was particularly delicious -- I don't normally like cold salmon but it was great. Forgot to add the pommes frites were great too.
