Mountain Restaurants
 

We will be skiing Gstaad and would appreciate any mountainside restaurant recommendations for our lunch break. Suggestions?

If you are skiing at Wispile, the restaurant right at the top of the cable car is fabulous. Ditto with the restaurant at the top of the Eggli, with fabulous views over the valley.

The restaurant at the Horneggli cable car above Schönried looked fabulous -- really pretty and cosy with incredible views over the valley. Unfortunately, I had already eaten when I passed it, and I was sorry I had.

Thanks. I believe we will be skiing in the area of the Horneggli cable car. Do we need to make reservations for lunch on the mountain?

I wouldn't think so. It may be crowded if you stop for lunch at or after 12.00, though, so you may want to stop at 11.30 or 11.45.
