Moulin Rouge

I am planning a quick trip to Paris next week. Is the show at the Moulin Rouge worth seeing? Should I go to the Lido or Crazy Horse instead. Should I waste my money on any of them?

CHS: Crazy Horse! Very classy. Whether it's a waste of money, is a very personal matter. Depends on your interests. But once in your life, definitely yes. Try to get a seat at the bar. Less expensive.
Have fun!

Hi CHS, I have looked up the Moulin Rouge on the Internet. I have friends who went there last year and they said people are really packed in like sardines. I hear the food is good but far from spectacular. Paris, Moulin Rouge? If it's what you want it's fun to say I've been there, done that. Once in a life time chance perhaps. I do not know anything about the Lido or the Crazy Horse. Good luck and have fun whatever you choose. I have to wait until next June!

I have been to the Lido and Paradise Latin.
Lido was great. Very Las Vegas type.

There are roughly 3 groups of people who have been there (not me) about equal in size-
One says they thought it was great fun and an all around good evening.
One says the show was fun but the food mediocre and not worth it
One says none of it worth it. I think these are people who have been to Vegas and seen the top-flight shows.
I say - If you want to see it, go. It will be an experience and French people tell me the Moulin Rouge is the most typical. For more Paris information e-mail me Ð [email protected]
Hello,
The show at the Moulin Rouge is just a year old and looks pretty entertaining. I haven't seen this yet in person, but in the spring I watched a documetary on French television about the "making" of this show at the Moulin Rouge called "Feerie". It looked much better than the past show that I did see there. The costumes looked great. There are jugglers, acrobats, ponies, and they have an aqarium in the show. There are the traditional show girls and boys. Of course we must remember this is the home of the original "can-can". The show may not be as spectacular as those in Vegas, but this is where it began.
Show with dinner at 7pm, Show at 9pm-and 11pm. You can also just watch from the bar. I have never had the dinner but everyone I know has given it good reviews. The Moulin Rouge is located at 82 blvd de Clichy in the 18th arr. Metro stop Blanche. www.moulinrouge.fr
Crazy Horse is a very different show. The show on a whole is better in my opinion(that's only my opinion). It is as the sign says L'Art du Nu = the art of the nude. The show is always as tight at the bottoms you will see performing on stage. Here you will see leggy dancing girls in possibly the sexiest cabaret in the city with girls calling themselves names like "pussy-duty-free". The current show is called "Teasing". The shows are Sun-Fri at 8:30pm and 11pm, Sat at 7:30pm, 9:45pm and 11:50pm. Located 12 avenue George V not far from the Champs-Elysees. Metro stop Alma-Marceau. http://www.cofrase.com/cabarets/crazyhorse/index.htm
The Lido has an old and a bit tired production. I would pass on the Lido these days. I just saw the show there in the early summer because I had a friend in the show, my ticket was free. The acts in between the "showgirl" numbers were actually very good. But the show itself is beat.
Which ever show you choose I am sure you will have a great time. Make reservations.
Sincerely,
Michael
