Motorcycle ride from Denmark to Madrid

I am currently graduating from college in California and am looking for one last hoorah with a motorcycle trip from Denmark to Madrid. I am having trouble finding anyone who has done a similar trip as this before, who may have advice on routes or points of interest.
I intend on buying a bike when I get there and selling it upon destination. I am buying a one way ticket with up to 3 months of traveling time. I am an experienced rider and will be accompanied by a friend on another bike.
Basically, I am looking for advice on what routes to take, "must see places" somewhat along the way, and any other advice that may be helpful.

You flagged this post as a trip report, and I opened it expecting to read about such an adventure. If you want to ask a question, and hope to get input from the Forum, I'd suggest you re-post and ask for the information you would like. You will get many more answers that way.

The first hurdle to overcome is to purchase and insure a motorbike, or any vehicle; you have to have an address in said country. Most counties will require you to register at the address so they can trace you if you are caught for speeding or more major misdemeanours.
A minor point is how will you dispose of the bike after the trip. You will not be able to import it as the importation fees will be high and not worth the value. Paperwork to import is difficult too.
Some information:
Buying a vehicle in Denmark.

Importing a vehicle into Spain.

I acknowledge these both talk about cars but the procedure will be the same for motorbikes.

You will also need an IDP

nukesafe - there was absolutely no need to repost. I've asked the editors to remove the TR flag.

A couple of issues I see:

• the problems buying/selling/insuring a bike already mentioned. There are companies that rent motorcycles - though I don't know about a 1-way rental like you propose. A google search will bring up motorcycle rentals in Europe.

• A young man arriving in Schengen w/ a one way ticket may not get in at all. No rules say one must have a return ticket. But immigration officers will look closely if you don't have a set date to leave. So if you solve the bike bit, then I'd definitely book a changeable round trip ticket. You can always modify your return flight after you are in Europe.

oh - and I meant to add, you are limited to no more than 90 days total, so don't let your '3 months' morph into 95 days or anything like that.
