Mother-adult daughter Rome trip in June

I am planning on meeting my adult daughter in Rome during the middle of June for 6 days. I am looking for unusual places in and around Rome that Fodorites have visited and would recommend for us to see and do. As an international flight attendant, I have vacationed and worked many Rome layovers so want to see something different on this vacation .I have never been to Hadrian's villa so want to do that on one of our days there. However, I am also looking for any suggestions of places that you all have visited in the Rome area that you would like to share and that I have possibly missed? Thank you so much!

There's usually a good mix of new openings, short-run events and established favourites in the monthly magazine these people produce....

For photos and a few notes etc from our own wanderings, try starting here:

.... with that "A day on tram no. 3" collection perhaps covering some places you'll not have seen yet?

Thanks for the tips! Ironically, I saw the "Genesis" photo exhibit in London last month with my son and absolutely loved it so will definitely take my daughter there.
Keep those tips coming as I really appreciate them.

the palazzo doria-pamphilij is a lovely gallery, little known and even less visited:

the entrance is on the via del corso; the adjoining tea shop is very chic - great for a light lunch, or tea and cakes.
