Since Flygirl asked (Thanks for the comment on my Florence picture) Here are 3 more:

pbase.com/trsw/image/51836802 The sunsetting along the Grand Canal in Venice

pbase.com/trsw/image/52005361 Just around sundown in Rome

pbase.com/trsw/image/59605063 The sun rising over St Peters in Rome. The last picture I took in Rome before I (sadly) headed home.

Many thanks to those who shared memories and photos, Tom I have to ask,did you tweak those photos at all?
If not I am going to have to see sunrise in Rome (sunset is a little easier).

easy for me...late November evening, I'm walking eastward on the Quai du Louvre in Paris, just past the Pont Neuf.
Eerily it was as if a finger poked my right shoulder and I turned and looked...the Eiffel Tower was just lighting up from the bottom and sparkling against the deep violets, azures, reds and golds of sunset after a rainy day. Magic.
Or, one of my angels looking out for me, yet again... I keep 'em busy.

I have a toss up- 1st would be a sunset overlooking the ocean in selema(sp???) from a hiking trail in the cliffs or a quiet night in assisi watching the sun drop behind the church of st. francis with the umbrian countryside all around us.

The sunset I saw when leaving Santorini for the last time on the ferry in April of 2003. It was so beautiful, I didn't even take any pix of it as I just wanted to remember it in my mind. And I still do.

JoMark - The only 'tweaking' I did was to use the night landscape setting on my camera, even the sunrise shot. I would recommend that you try to catch a sunrise in Rome. Very tranquil!!!

For those interested, there is one night in August when the sun sets exactly in the center of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It always draws hundreds of photographers if it is not a cloudy day.
