Have been to Venice several times. Have never seen (or heard) a mosquito. Have fun!

I got one bite in June 2001. We left our window open and the pesky thing kept buzzing around.

I was in Venice mid October last fall for 3 nights and my face got chomped BIGTIME at night in my hotel. Didn't expect it at all kuz I normally associate mosq's with weather that's warmer & more humid. My hotel wasn't on top of a canal, and I kept windows closed at night...but I will NEVER AGAIN visit Venice without some sort of mosq repellent - horrible bites by 3rd day, I was actually kind of worried about it. To be on the safe side, maybe pack a mini-tube of a mosq repellent in case you have a pesky mosquito in your room at night!

We were in Venice last May and opened the window. My grandaughter was bitten so badly that we had to take her to the hospital. Turned out she was allergic. However, we've been to Venice numerous times before, had the windows open and have never been bothered. Avon Skin So Soft is good as a repellent.
