Mosquitoes in Amsterdam?

We are considering staying in a canal house type hotel in Amsterdam in late May & very early June. Would there be a problem with mosquitoes at this time of year? <BR>

We went last March, so obviously no mosquito problem. I think my Eyewitness Guide - Amsterdam did mention this topic for warmer months, though...suppose you just deal as you would at home by carrying some repellent.

You do get the odd one, not a problem unless you are especially sensitive.I am, I usually use a plug-in thing with repellent tablets, but its seldom needed there.Good hotels don't seem to harbour them.

There will be no mosquitos in May/June. Mosquitos appear in middle/late summer, i.e. August/September.

Donīt think so. Iīve been there four times ( July, August and September ) and never had any kind of bothering.

We were there in June and I don't recall any mosquitos and I think we slept with our window open.
