Moscow, Hotel Baltschug Kempinski/ restaurants

Can you tell me the plus and minus of thie Hotel, also any great restuarants you can recommend in this area of town. Is there a beter time in the summer than another to go to Moscow and St. Petersburg? Thank you.

The Baltschug Kempinski is a great hotel, one of the two best in Moscow
My only qualification is that you need a driver when staying here, as it is not within walking distance of tourist or business sights. Every room and public space looks like it is set up for a photo shoot. Kempinski really went out to create not only a beautiful hotel but a group of employees who know what Western-standard service is. Any hotelier from Germany or England would view this as a model property.

Depending on what you want, late June is the most interesting time to be in St. Petersburg (as the "White Nights" occur around June 22, little darkness). In August there are few cultural performances of the primary companies.

As for restaurants, besides the wonderful offerings at the Kempinsky, there is "Snobs", located near Christ the Saviour, which is probably the best top restaurant near the hotel.

As my niece reminded me, "The Saint" (1997) had a scene or two filmed in the lobby (when Elizabeth Shue confronts Val Kilmer).
