Hi guys

Partner and i will be in Mosow in Setember. Instead of paying $40 bucks for a Taxi,

what is the best way to get to the Ukrainia Hotel?

This hotel is by Metro Station Kievskaya.

We will only have two small luggages with us.

You don't say where you want to start your journey. If it is Domodedovo airport, take the train which leaves on the hour to Paveletskaya station and then take the circle line to Kievskaya station. Then walk from this metro station to your hotel

It is still a 15-20 minute walk to the Hotel Ukraina, if it is the same one we stayed at (practically on the bank of the Moskva River). (I see you spelled it Ukrainia -- maybe that is a different hotel.) It is also a somewhat complicated walk. You would need a fairly good map, unless you already know the way.

Having walked this route several times, it did not take 15-20 mins nor was it a complicated route. The website mentions the distance from various points to the hotel.

There are taxis outside the station if required.

If you are used to walking, I'm sure you could do this walk. If you know where you are going, and walk relatively fast, you could probably do it in under 15 minutes. There are two large streets to get across (one with a under-the-street walkway). We walked through a residential apartment complex which I think was most direct. Perhaps Odin know a simpler way.

The fixed rate for a taxi to and from the airport is 850 roubles. That's what my hotel - the Sheraton - told me and that is what I paid three days ago. The metro is logical and easy to use once you understand it and figure out the names in cyrilic - learn the letters before you arrive.

Also, do not take an photographs in the metro no matter how tempted you may be. The metro's were built to also serve as bomb shelters and their security is taken extremely seriously. Photos are not allowed and regular citizens will repremand you vigorously as well as the security guards.
