Morning Munich flight

Looking for a place to overnight in or around Munich for a flight out the next day.

If it's an early morning flight you probably want to be near the airport. I stayed at the Movenpick, very nice and they have an airport shuttle. I don't remember if it was free or not, it seems like it wasn't. But I'm sure it's still cheaper than a cab.

If you have a car, you can stay in either Freising or Erding, both of which have many (small) hotels. Even Landshut, northwest of the airport, will do, and is a nice little city in Lower Bavaria.

Depending on your flight time, downtown (Marienplatz) is about 45 minutes on the S-Bahn to the airport.

I am going to piggy-back here and ask: what is the earliest S-bahn to the Airport? I have to catch a 6.30 flight from Munich to Lisbon on a Sunday (Nov.6). Should I take the last car to the Airport, just to be on the safe side?

On weeknights, the only interruption in service is from 00:25 to 03:05. Starting at 3:05AM, there is a train at least every 20 minutes (according to the S-Bahn Munich webiste).

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 12:11 AM.
