More scenic photos !
Here is one of my photo galleries that may give you a Euro fix during these winter days

cigalechanta Feb 10th, 2005 06:18 PM

bob, Those are beautiful shots, such vivid color. Thank you for great viewing.

bobthenavigator Feb 10th, 2005 07:12 PM

Grazie CC, Many of these were slides that I had digitized--some are 20 years old.

Truly stunning photos. Thanks! Ann

Thanks, Bob.

Just the thing for a cold winter morning.

If you are not a photographer for a travel magazine, then you have missed your calling. Fantastic pics!!

Thanks so much..I needed that!

JQReports Feb 11th, 2005 04:45 AM

Bob, great photos. Some bring back memories, the rest reinforce my desire to travel. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy a lottery ticket.

jmw44 Feb 11th, 2005 04:48 AM

Thanks, Bob, please remind me of the location of the "Greek Chapel". Beautiful pictures. J.

Statia Feb 11th, 2005 05:20 AM

Fantastic shots, Bob! Thanks for sharing them. :)

Tries2PakLite Feb 11th, 2005 05:25 AM

Those are wonderful. Thanks for sharing them.

kopp Feb 11th, 2005 05:33 AM

Thanks, Bob. What a treat to take a "tour" this morning.

I especially liked the "End of the World" and the "Glacier Express."

bobthenavigator Feb 11th, 2005 07:25 AM

Well, I am delighted that these images are enjoyed by others. The Greek chapel was taken from a boat as we entered Folegandos in 1997. It never ceases to surprise me which shots are the favorites--it really is a personal thing. Since you seem to like these, I will start a new post with my gallery named " Faces of Europe".

bobthenavigator Feb 11th, 2005 06:30 PM

Who can guess where the "end of the world" shot was taken. Many regarded it as just that in the 14th century.

kopp Feb 12th, 2005 06:41 AM

Looks like Etretat, France to me.

Clifton Feb 12th, 2005 06:54 AM

Beautiful shots Bob. My favorites are the portrait shots in the other thread though (I love those sorts of photos)

I'd have to guess, never having been there, that the end of the world would have been thought to be somewhere on the coast of Portugal? I can tell from the pic that it's not Ireland. That photo reminds me very much of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia between Melbourne and Adelaide, except for the vegetation.

beachbum Feb 12th, 2005 06:57 AM

Thanks for sharing, bob. Really like the gondolier's hat. And lunch at Amalfi reminds me of many that I take of a reluctantly agreeing subject.

bobthenavigator Feb 12th, 2005 08:17 AM

Clifton wins ! It is indeed the Cape St. Vincent at the SW corner of Portugal--the site where Prince Henry, my mentor, had his famous navigation school. There is a very nice Pousada closeby if you want to stay there.

bobthenavigator Feb 12th, 2005 08:18 AM

Oh yes, beachbum, the subject is my lovely wife who was not too reluctant.

tedgale Feb 12th, 2005 08:53 AM

Wonderful photos. Relieved to find they were not all taken on the same trip -- I thought at first you had been on the road for about 6 months..

I like the photo "Underwoods in Prague" because I think I can see our March 4-7, 2005 hotel room windows (!!)in the photo.

(Apostolic Residence's 2 floor "Attic Apartment" -- can't wait!)
