More reasons to visit south Wales !

The National Waterfront Museum in Swansea is on the shortlist for the £100,000 Gulbenkian Prize for Museum of the Year, the largest single arts award in the UK.

The £33m museum traces Wales' industrialisation and maritime trade and is housed in an exciting-looking new slate and glass buikding.

The nomination is the third in three years for a heritage venue in south Wales.

The 2005 Gulbenkian award was won by Big Pit, the disused former coal mine which employs ex-miners to recreate the pit experience for visitors.

In 2004, Pembrokeshire Museum Services' travelling exhibition, housed in a traditional gypsy caravan, highlighting the county's Romany heritage, made it on to the prize's shortlist.

And while you are in Swansea take a trip down the Gower penninsula. Extremely beautiful area.
But don't forget to nip into Cardiff on the way back to sample a lovely pint of Brains beer.

mmmm

Have you had your brains today?

Hi Caroline,
looks an interesting place to visit, enjoy.

Fairfax Hi, No Brains today (yet) but the night is young !!

Sunday Wales play Scotland at the Mill, so I am pretty confident of using Brains then.
