more pop-ups!

Now I know why Fodor's closed the website yesterday for maintenance -- so they could install more annoying pop-up ads. They are popping up everytime you click to reply or make a new post.
Install a popup stopper , i.e www.panicware.com..it's free and it works!

Yes, I was looking at the ones at download.com already,

I don't have any pop up stopper software (that I know of) and I never get pop ups on fodors.

I am curious, could this be a pc or ie thing? I have a Mac w/ netscape.

s.fowler Apr 28th, 2002 09:13 AM

I'm not getting popups in the forum.

Sheila Apr 28th, 2002 09:31 AM

Whereas I have a PC with IE, and I don't get them either.

Wonder how they DO that?

Myriam Apr 28th, 2002 09:59 AM

Don't have pop-ups either (a pc with IE)!

I only get one pop-up from Orbitz on the home page. Otherwise, I change pages from the topic listings at the top of the left-hand column and have no problem with any more ads.
Well, I am definitely getting these annoying pop-ups from Fodors, too.
I get popup windows if I go to the Travel Talk home page, (one per visit) but none if I come directly to a forum, so one solution might be to change your bookmark to come directly here.

The popups in Travel Talk have been there a short while, but longer than a week, I am trying to think back to when the last "maintainence" date was, it wasn't introduced this weekend past since I have had them longer than that.

My blocker software stops the ads themselves but the window still opens up, so perhaps I need to update or get a different blocker...

Kavey

If you have Norton Anti Virus software, it has a pop up stopper already built into the package, which is why some of you might not be getting the pop up ads and don't realize it.

Statia, I too get the one pop-up from Orbiz each time I log on.
