More D-Day beaches stuff
I'm reading a book called "A Traveller's Guide to D-Day and the Battle for Normandy". Knowing that some of you are heading that way this spring, I thought it might be of interest.
They have little maps of some circular drives and some instructions as "turn here, take this exit", etc. I'm sure I'll still manage to get lost when I go, but it may help someone. |
Topping, because I thought several of you were going there this spring. I've almost finished the book. I think I may xerox a couple of the little maps.

Thanks for the book suggestion. We are going there this summer and I checked into battlebus tour but one of our kids is too young for the tour. Can anyone tell me about the museum in Caen? Thanks!

The museum in Caen in fantastic. Kids would have varying levels of interest in the displays depending on their maturity and understanding of the subject. There are film and photo displays as well as artifact displays. You can move through the museum at your own pace, and there is a garden area and an excellent book shop.

This is a documentary that will be released soon, I hope. There's a peek video.

The video link was great, thanks. I have 3 older kids who will really get a lot out of the museum and area. We'll have to work with our 8 year old to keep him interested! Jean, it's always great to hear from someone's who been there.

Topping for all those recent posters wondering if they'll need a guide.
I xeroxed a lot out of this book before I went. |
Hopingtotravel, thank you! I have so many books but not that one. It looks great, and since SO' b-day is coming up, and he is now the tour guide for that part of the trip, maybe I will try to get it for him.
