Help with hefty drop off fee for car in Chuisi and Orvieto

Autoeurope is quoting me a 250 Euro fee for returning a car to Chiusi or Orvieto. We have to have an automatic and are picking the car up earlier in Verona. I would rather drop the car in these two cities rather than Rome, but there is no drop off fee there. Any ideas?

Hi P,

Call www.Kemwel.com and www.Gemut.com, and see what they can do.

Have you tried www.novacarhire.com?

I am confused---why a drop charge? Is it because you are changing vendors to get the automatic?

Did you find this out by calling them, or from their web site? If you called them, what was the reason for the 250E drop-off. That's something new.

Thanks for all of your help. I had actually looked on the internet and spoken to a rep as well from Autoeurope. He said that the high prices may have been because it was the last night of February and their computer had not loaded the March specials. I took Ira's advice and called Kemwel, which I found out is owned by Autoeurope. They had a much better rate and the automatic car that we like as well as pick up and drop off at different locations. I've booked through them.
